The Umbrella Special Forces Unit® (U.S.F.U.®) was founded in 2010 by Cpt. B2 and Cyttlecat, two gamers who believed communities could be both disciplined and welcoming. What began as a small tactical group quickly evolved into a multi-game community built on teamwork, respect, and shared experience.
Over the years, U.S.F.U.® expanded across games, playstyles, and creative spaces — becoming known for its immersive operations, structured leadership, and strong sense of camaraderie.
As the community grew, so did the responsibility to protect its members, culture, and long-term health. This led to intentional reflection, restructuring, and cultural shifts away from pressure-driven systems toward fairness, balance, and sustainability.
At the end of 2025, the founders B2 / Azrael formally retired, passing the torch to a new era of leadership.
Under Agent Nyx, U.S.F.U.® entered a full modernization phase — redesigning systems, strengthening security, and redefining what a modern gaming community should be.
U.S.F.U.® is not built on trends, hype, or disposable platforms. We are a community-owned, security-first gaming network.
U.S.F.U.® is founded by Cpt. B2 and Cyttlecat as a tactical unit focused on teamwork, discipline, and mutual respect.
Cyttlecat leaves the community, initially citing a desire to pursue other directions. Later investigations in 2020 revealed that a former Community Manager played a key role in pushing her out. This incident, along with other leadership mismanagement, would later contribute to the creation of the Internal Compliance Division (ICD).
Rapid growth leads to divisions, immersive operations, and multi-game roleplay experiences.
Leadership evaluates sustainability, culture, and member wellbeing — initiating long-term reform.
Many long-time leaders step down as the community begins shifting away from high-pressure, toxic behaviors and towards a more inclusive, fair, and welcoming environment.
Internal leadership divisions and unresolved conflicts create a major fracture within the community. Unable to sustain healthy operations, U.S.F.U.® formally shuts down to prevent further harm.
Cpt. B2 / Azrael begins rebuilding efforts, planning a controlled relaunch for 2025 with lessons learned from the past.
The ICD launches as an independent oversight body focused on fairness, conflict mediation, transparency, and member protection.
During the relaunch phase, renewed incidents of toxic behavior emerge. Several long-time founding leaders depart, prompting Cpt. B2 to officially retire from leadership.
Leadership is formally handed to Agent Nyx, an old friend of the founders and former member. Nyx assumes control with a mandate to rebuild from the ground up.
Under Nyx, U.S.F.U.® prepares to reopen as a security-focused, wholesome, and community-owned gaming network. The new era prioritizes member safety, privacy, transparency, and a cozy-meets-tactical experience for gamers of all backgrounds
