The Umbrella Special Forces Unit® was founded in 2010 by Cpt. B2 and Cyttlecat, two gamers who believed in creating something rare: a disciplined yet welcoming gaming space that valued teamwork, respect, and genuine connection. What began as a small tactical group soon evolved into a multi-game community known for its structure, camaraderie, and memorable gameplay experiences.
Now, over a decade later, the founders have retired, passing the torch to a new era of leadership.
In 2025, U.S.F.U.® entered its next chapter under Agent Nyx, who reimagined the community for the modern gaming world. With renewed purpose, updated systems, and a focus on inclusivity and comfort, the community now blends its tactical roots with a cozy, casual, and drama-free atmosphere that welcomes all kinds of gamers — from bookworms and photographers to FPS enjoyers and roleplay storytellers.

Many long-time leaders step down as the community begins shifting away from high-pressure, toxic behaviors and towards a more inclusive, fair, and welcoming environment. This year marks the beginning of a foundational culture change.
The Internal Compliance Division is officially launched — an unbiased, impartial oversight branch dedicated to fairness, member protection, conflict mediation, and transparent accountability. ICD becomes one of U.S.F.U.®’s defining systems.
With the founders retiring, Nyx steps in to rebuild and modernize the community. This “Rebirth Era” restores U.S.F.U.®’s tactical roots while embracing a new cozy, casual, and inclusive culture that welcomes gamers of all backgrounds and playstyles.
